Modelina is more than just a small business; it's the story of a seven-year-old girl (me, Mădălina 😊) who sewed her own toys with the help of her father and grandmother.
My father taught me how to use our family's 100-year-old sewing machine, and my grandmother, with great patience and meticulousness, showed me how to knit, crochet, and use a needle.
Many years later, I began sewing toys for the children in my family, who became both my biggest fans and my harshest critics. Working on these toys for them, I rediscovered my deep-rooted love for sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, and woodworking.
For me, Modelina is a creative paradise where imagination meets craftsmanship. I get to be that seven-year-old girl again, dreaming and playing. Each toy I create is meticulously crafted using natural fabrics, yarn, wool, wood, and recycled materials, aiming to minimize environmental impact, cultivate minimalism, and reduce consumerism. All dolls are safe, so they can be hugged by kids of all ages.
